They have anthropogenic issues related to their coral reefs but the scientific research points to dredging, blasting and the use of toxins as being the primary culprit for coral reef’s decline.

So your point of difference to “the bender’s” opinion is that the ocean level is rising but just not as quickly as we may have been expecting as opposed to him expecting it to rise at some point in the future.

Both of you appear to want to ignore the Elephant in the Room, though.

The majority of coral islands are growing because their coral reef systems are very healthy and not dying due to MMCC.

I am frequently bemused about how upset the bed wetter's get about the GBR supposedly going to disappear, maybe as soon as next week, because of rising ocean temperatures.

However they disappear when it is pointed out the coral reefs in the Philippines are going quite well when ocean temperatures in the vicinity are a few degrees warmer than those adjacent to the GBR
