it must be news to you that before you get a massive storm - you often get a period of intense quiet
oddly enough there's a saying about it ------ 'the calm before the storm' - wow, who woulda thought
you probably also don't know that you can get avalanches when you get a large snow dump on ground that's warm - not cold enough for the snow to stick - that's what I keep hearing -
so, in France we had a very very very warm winter early - then, we got record snow dumps - and then
I'm no expert in avalanche, but what I keep hearing is that snow - to me, is kind of like paint --------- it needs the surface to be prepared for it to stick - and if the surface isn't right and it doesn't stick - then, it slides
but, that'd be all too complicated for someone like you I guess -
