    Hi dude, the equatorial bulge is not how wide the equator is.

    The equatorial bulge refers to how much fatter the Earth is at the equator compared to the poles.

    Because the earth isn't a perfect sphere - it's a bit squished.

    The 43 km you reference is the average extra bulge upwards away from the earth's core you world be if you stood at the equator.
