I agree with you.

For teh longest time I, conceptually have fought this idea (particularly at work) that "perception is reality". I've lost this argument time and again. Wisdom (and maybe a bit of age) has shown me the futility of this. As long as the perception is that "perception is reality", then it is.

One think though about this political issue businesses. I'd encourage you all to read about Availability Heuristics. It really is very interesting and describes the way so many things in life are the way they are.

Bottom line, at its essence Availability Heuristics says we form opinions or react of belive things based on the most recently available information.

The TOL/LAMP issue as far as that pocket of trouble making misfits could die down as quickly and vehemently as it started if the swinging tide of teh most recently available inforation moves against these notions. I don't think this is a long bow to draw.

Remember at just sub $1 - Lynas was cheap. Same issues, in fact more issues then now. Because it was coming down from $1.20 and $1.10. Then 90cents was cheap.

Now 76.5 cents is expensive....or it seems that way.

It's all heuristics. Again, very valuable reading and some good leanrings. I encourage you all to maybe just go tothe wikipedia page and have a read. It wont cost you anything save for 5 minutes of your time. Less time than it took for me to type this post.
