The budget was a sign of good financial management, the added benefits of investing in superannuation after the budget, should outway peoples propensity to spend, so, I can't see it having any more upward effect on interest rates than if nothing had happened. The icing on the cake would be the dismantling of the 'state' level of government, that could be John Howards crowning glory, and something he would never be forgotten for.
