I think part of the problems has to do with how our two party system works: party hacks win selection and go on to local councils/state parliaments/federal parliaments.
ove governed ? yes, we are. Tasmania as a state is a good example.
We need to have less MPs in state parliaments. And, if anyone can think of a way that will legally bind politicians to the promises they make to the electorate at the time of election, it will be wonderful. We won't then have this nonsense of "core" and "non core" election promises.
MPs with better intergrity will be a big improvement.
