"According to Jakarta-based sources, a new development feasibility study is under way on Jeruk based on a design production profile of up to 30,000 barrels per day of oil with a floating production, storage and offloading vessel seen as a likely centrepiece of the project. The owners of the Jeruk field have been reviewing additional exploration and development opportunities in the Sampang PSC for several years, and joint venture partner Cue Energy since late 2021 has referred specifically to Jeruk as one such opportunity. Cue reiterated in its latest quarterly report that options for Jeruk are being reviewed, while the joint venture is also seeking a PSC extension for the Sampang block, which expires in December 2027. The Jeruk field was discovered 20 years ago and it sparked excitement with subsequent appraisal and sidetrack wells that highlighted the potential for a major oilfield."
