    Hi Guys,

Let me thank you all for some informative posts lately. This is my first post in this stock.

Being a member of defence myself, I can say this technology has often been spoken about in wonder during the wee hours of the morning watches. People are typically amazed that this capability has spawned from the Australian Defence industry but also equally amazed as to why it is not in production or in use by the ADF. My own thoughts on this are that equipping ADF members with the best bleeding-edge technology to enhance their protection and capability is often reconciled detrimentally against other parallel imperatives such as political posturing, international allegiances and that subjective catch-all -?cost-effectiveness.? I have come to learn that my protection and capability, sadly, isn?t the only thing decision makers consider ? that?s a manufactured utopia, not a reality.

For this reason, I am not holding my breath waiting for the ADF to adopt this technology. This may happen in due course, but I would expect Metalstorm to succeed instead on the back of the more progressive militaries we follow. I believe it will, and this is the reason I took a position last week at 0.5 cents after watching the price decline over a number of years. People say that ?catching a falling? knife? is dangerous, but I put to people that it certainly seems MST is now gaining traction and that a turn-around is coming. Today?s announcement certainly testifies to this.

I am not put off by the PNG government?s delays in ratifying the MAUL contract and believe this deal is just as likely come into fruition now as it was when it was announced. I may be wrong, but certainly delays in government are common and if you look at our ?first-world? government, well, put it this way- I am still waiting on a political decision concerning the funding of our superannuation scheme that was tabled before the GFC.

With respect to the prospective deal with Canada and the statements by Defence Canada indicating that all SIPES variants will all be based on MAUL. This is not something that can be simply clarified over an email or phone call and I do not think we should expect a rapid outcome or be dejected at a lack of confirmation. Based on this recent disclosure I suspect it is the current intention of Canada to eventually adopt MAUL based on its clear merit, but having Defence Canada indicate this and having the Canadian government make a major contractual announcement for which they will be accountable are two different things. I believe the announcement will come, but only after its government consents to it's release and due diligence is utterly exhausted - not when the Defence Canada author considers it timely. Incidentally, silence on the matter is not necessarily a bad thing and I would like to point out that that the prospect could have been denounced immediately, but hasn?t. Frankly, I find comfort in this silence and I do not believe it is a failing of MST's leadership (even if I am chewing on my nails whilst I wait).

These are simply my thoughts guys, feel free to disagree. I respect the company I keep on this forum.

    Dave
