Dave787,
Thanks for your post. Nice to see that the "Soldier on the ground" supports MST.
I agree your view on 'political posturing'. (I read as 'Sucking up to the US').
Here's the really dumb part. If MST could get a decent contract with Aus DOD, then success would be assured. More orders would follow, particularly after a few Joint Exercises, where allies and others get to see the tech in real action. Profitability would be only a matter of 2-3 years. THEN MST starts paying TAX! To the Australian Government!
Now of course, those dim witted pollies in Canberra, can't see that far ahead. They have no interest in supporting Australian business (particularly those socialists & greenies in control right now) in any way shape or form. They are just about to impose a tax on the biggest businesses, but the actual consumers have no disincentive to pollute. Another 'redistribution of income' under the guise of something else.
So this bunch of twits would rather take away a cow and hand it to someone else, saying they've created the cow, than assist the farmer who is breeding the cows?
I guess, they probably realise that any support of MST, that will pay tax dividends in 2-3 years, won't matter to them, coz they won't be in power by then. Just proves that they have no true interest in the future of Australia.
