@andros62... if! Karl is correct about ARQ that it is a tired”old IT” company (and I agree and wonder why the hell it ever got to be 18% of the CDM portfolio), why were we holding it at the top,? adding to the weighting? And not selling as insurance before the big drop ? Karl the saviour ? Where are the nails and the cross ? If it is a croc, why the BH are we still holding 4% of the portfolio in ARQ ?
Karl seems to have a sentimental attachment to certain investments that we the SH can’t afford. That’s not the role of the portfolio manager, in fact, that’s why we the private investors outsource our investing decisions so that we dont become attached to our investments.
Disclosure : I haven’t watched Karl’s performance yet as I’m too despondent !
Far from falling on his sword and admitting that he (they) (the Fund) (anybody other than Karl) stuffed up, he’s now crowing that CDM is a good “bet” because it is under NTA.
I’d like to think that I’m an investor, not a gambler; but it seems I was wrong !
