Shareholders should scrutinise Cougar Energy's
management.
It was with interest last week that I read the
concerns of the shareholders of Cougar Energy,
which is the company that had its UCG operation
permanently closed down by the Qld Govt earlier
this year.
These shareholders are obviously concerned about
the effect that the closure has and will have on
the value of their shareholding and have been trying
to mount a case to say they have been unfairly
treated.
It is interesting to note that while they quote many
publications by Cougar themselves they do not mention
the independent panel's report on the issue or the
actual detailed reasoning for the closure.[HUH!]
"They" also do not mention the many other reports from
around the world on the risks associated with UCG tech
such as from the American EPA.
Surely investing in a company has to be about more than
just making a quick buck, and company boards have a
greater responsibility than simply achieving the
greatest return for shareholders at any cost to the
industries and communities around them.
While I can understand these shareholders being angry
at the head of Cougar Energy management for its handling
of the issue,I cannot understand them having any grievance
against the local community around the site or the state
Govt for acting to protect the community and environment.
The only complaint anyone could have with this Govt is
why they let the trial project begin in the first place
and to carry on for so long.
[this guy hasn't got a clue]
Shareholders need to take a critical and informed look
at their investments and review the actions and ethics
of the companies they have invested in or intend to
invest in.....
-------------------------------------------
Mr Tessmann, the Qld dairy industry is facing a crises of
confidence with many leaving the industry and many more
to follow.Dairying is a sunset industry in Qld and now
would be a good time to encourage a potential energy
source to your neck of the woods. Then you could sit back
and tell your grandkids, how you and yours fought for a
new power source at Kingaroy, that changed the way
SE/Qld gained access to cleaner power.
There would hardly be a Cougar shareholder that cannot
imagine the above from not happening.Given the green
light.Had you done one hours research Mr Tessmann
before you made some of the above statements, you would
not be making a fool of yourself as you are in the above
copy.Or are you so blind that you are just another pawn
under Anna's thumb.?
[Sending him the full monty on Monday, something may stick!
