Kyrgyz government to draft bill on special tax on excess profits of mobile and gold mining companies within 2 weeks.

The Kyrgyz government will draft a bill on a special tax on excess profits of mobile and gold mining companies, Finance Minister Akylbek Japarov said at the plenary session of the Parliament on February 29, reported Tazabek.

The government has calculations on this kind of taxes, the Finance Minister said. "For instance, mobile operators in Afghanistan are levied 10% turnover tax. Other countries also levy tax on excess profits of gold mining companies, which depend upon world gold price fluctuations," he said.


Doesn't the Kyrgyz government already own 20% of the Andash mine anyway? Now they want extra revenue from extra taxes!

Does that mean that they will tax their share of the profits also? (lol)
