Just back from the trip to PNG. For those that thought about going and didn't you missed one of life’s great experiences. Suggest you go on any future trips. To fly for 40 minutes each way over West New Britain’s island, which for or the most is untouched, and to touch down into a massive old volcano now known as Andewa was amazing. Even a seasoned Geo from a major was blown away by the trip. Also got a chance to helicopter into and around a live volcano on the way which you don't tend to do often!!!
For the camp itself it was nearly setup as a eco holiday resort. The PNG people have pride where they live and work and the huts/wooden buildings were nicely done. The camp was very well laid out and the whole operation speaks volumes on the professionalism and experience of the Mcneils. The money is going where it should as is being used as well as it can to provide the returns for the holders. If anyone is going to find a profitable deposit then you have the feeling the Mcneil's and the FNT crew will.
Hole 9 was on the way. The big rigs on the way up to the camp. Should be drilling early Jan. Going to test one of the major anomaly’s and see what it is. As far as what the rest of the cores looked like there were some good sightings and more of the same. No one is sure thou until the assays are back so will just need to wait. Hole 4 results should not be too far away the bottom of which could be interesting.... As and overall rule the bottom of the holes seems to entering better rock. How deep and how much better well we will see. But to finish off the holes in potentially good ‘rock’ is a positive sign. This is normal thou for such deposits....
All the people on the trip were mightily impressed on the whole operation and FNT are doing the best to try and sure up SP wealth for all. The majors are sniffing at this early stage... will know a lot more over these 9 holes assays and the deep drill assay is complete. Not that long to go in the scheme of things...
