All slash is left on forest floor and if steep enough can be washed by rains ( now heavier from climate change?) to lower levels blocking bridges to the sea etc.
If Foresta can make use of tops, smaller logs without bark removal prior the processing and even waste from saw milling there is an unused resource costing only transport.
Could also speed up replanting forest by removing slowly rotting slash to allow earlier access.
