    I agree with a lot of what you say.

    For starters, Australia could do a lot worse than to cut middle class welfare and cut taxes accordingly (after all what gain do we have from bureaucracy "churning" the money?) and cut negative gearing on existing properties (purchasing existing dwellings isn't a productive use of equity on a macro scale).

    Disagree with you on GST. In fact I think the tax free threshold should be raised, increase the GST and flatten the income tax structure. Compensate the poor by all means in doing so. I really don't see such a move as regressive.
