I’ve been following BASF’s Carbon Management Projects for a while now of which Methane Pyrolysis is one technology being scaled up.  Note however their process says nothing about the production of CNTs but rather carbon as a solid granulate. And no real proposals about how their carbon could be used.  One might conclude EDE has the upper hand with their catalyst (produced at low cost in house) which enables a reaction at relatively low energy (BASF’s process is above 1,000 deg C) as well as the production of valuable CNTs and hydrogen.  I suggest the key to producing hydrogen economically using this method is finding markets for the CNTs, which we all know EDE has been working on.  The process appears very competitive against water electrolysis.  Interesting times IMHO.
