You're a loonie, Wisdomofsilnce. Rudd and his gang of four, of which Gillard and Tanner were key players, have collectively, with Swan, seen $300b wee'd up against the wall. The left want the productive intelligent industrious parts of the community like the mining community to pay everything into a vortex which ends up being wasted, so that the country is on its knees, people have to join unions, and go on welfare, and they stay in power. It's called socialism, and it is a failed experiment. this country tries it every now and then for some bizarre reason, and it ends up in tears every time.

If you think the mining community should pay a "bigger share" (what a crock!!), what about the banking sector !!! Why not whack a 40% super tax on them. why not whack a super tax on everyone who makes a profit. The whole tenet of socialism makes me vomitous, and is so naive and ridiculous.

If you want the poor people to have more and you want the country to grow and prosper, help the productive industries to grow. They employ more people, the country makes surpluses, infrastructure is built and so on. It's not rocket science. It happened under the coalition. It will happen under the next caolition. It's called common sense!

By the way, there is 2000 years + of iron ore in Australia, at current production rates....get it!!!!
