I personally don't see that government have done a real lot wrong ---------- ok - there's the hotel security thing - but, the only other realistic option was military - and, that's to be avoided if at all possible in a democracy

there's the meat thing - but, it seems there's problems throughout the entire meat industry ------------ world wide

the protest is very arguable ----------- as I said - I would not have stopped the protest --------- I wouldn't do that just for reason of Covid ------------- I would have handled it differently though - I would have made very loud noises to say - something like

'ok, this is a democracy and although it's bad timing because of Covid - I fully accept that people have a right to peacefully assemble - so - I will permit the protest - but, I ask that all who attend wear masks and observe social distancing -
it is your unalienable right to assemble - but, we all have a responsibilty to each other and, there are many people in the community who will be put at risk from large public gatherings if they are not done so with a high level of respect and discipline - (I would then have showed several pictures of older people - all a mix of aboriginal, white, black, asian etc etc) and said again - these are the people that large gatherings put at risk - all I ask you is to assemble safely, so that we do not put our community at risk'

that sort of thing ------------------- I would have made it very clear that it was their decision to gather and protest and I would have made the political pressure on them so strong that they would have had to comply with strong anti transmission methods - or abandon their protest

you need to engineer it so that people just will NOT do the wrong thing or they just shoot their entire cause in the foot

it can be done, it can be done well and it should be done.

Aside from that - ?????????? what else can you do that's really much better?

So you have a problem with the military helping in a bushfire or flood too? Or just in a pandemic when it suits your political argument? It's not like they would be walking around carrying machine guns, they wouldn't even be armed ffs! They are trained in the required procedures to deal with biohazards, they are the right people for the job and I'm sure you know that, it just suits you to argue for your side

No one is trying to suggest that the outbreak at the meat factory was his fault, the cover up was! It was keeping it secret that allowed it to spread.

As for our unalienable right to assemble, so you're saying that the govt has no right to stop funerals, weddings, mothers day celebrations etc? Or you're just arguing for your side again with no actual argument?
