When will the obvious thing be done and RAAF be put in charge all large aircraft (I would say C-130 & larger)
RAAF must have remote sensing abilities and state of art nav. to enable night time water bombing missions and have an HQ aircraft above as controller for their large units.
Build a fleet of say 10 747's - 75 tons per load - should allow for 4 to 6 available at any one time.
RAAF targeting should be independent of States bodies but of course liaison with States should be like hand in glove.
RAAF mission would be to put fires out not accompany them for weeks.
When no fires use aircraft for nav training, freight or to help with fires overseas.
