"...The Herald Sun can reveal Ryan’s legal team are suing major law firm Slater & Gordon for failing to conduct “a full and proper investigation into the circumstances” of the near-fatal 2013 Blairgowrie smash...."

It would be odd for Lawyers to conduct an independent accident investigation, especially if their client didn't specifically request one to be done. Any independent accident investigation by the Lawyers would add considerably to the legal costs, which would come out of the payout.

Compensation is on a no fault basis, so not sure what would have been achieved by the Lawyers doing an independent accident investigation, even if their client requested one.

It would make more sense if the case was about obtaining more compensation, and arguing the Lawyers didn't work hard enough to achieve a higher payout.

Any previous payout would have been agreed to by their client, so the case would need to show the advice of the Lawyers wasn't given in good faith.

Will be interesting to see what specifically the claims are in the case.
