Interesting that much like the federal election, votes for both major parties were well down again - following trends over the last 20+ years.
Not sure where this is headed in terms of politics for Vic and Aus - outside of Labor/Libs (and the Greens to a lesser degree) who the hell do you vote for? We're left with a pile of fledgling/fringe groups that appeal largely to some fairly extreme/wacky views.
I wonder what the voter turn out would be if voting was optional - I know I stared at the paper for a while trying to decide on who was least worst.
Politicians from all sides take note - trust and engagement is at an all time low.
