Its true though that the under-trained Assistants who work in aged care have no understanding of infection control. In this sense Andrews has a valid point but it serves no positive end to so criticise aged care workers and in this Hunt is quite correct.
Andrews is right to criticise the staffing and training of aged care workers. Its the responsibility of aged care operators to ensure there are adequately trained staff and to provide such training as is required. Unfortunately the system that has developed under fed Govts, both sides, has ensured that 'small govt' rules apply and regulations have been cut accordingly, allowing aged care operators to ignore adequate staffing and training.
You're merely blaming Andrews inappropriately on this matter BB... The Vic govt has no control over aged care services.
