Employers in Victoria have a government which keeps passing draconian laws.
Underpay staff, staff injures themselves, damages anyone or anything
employer can be jailed for years.
One result is casualisation of the workforce.
Unfortunately workers still need at least $1000 to feed themselves and pay the bills.
There are four aged care facilities within walking distance of my house.
There are some workers who get a few hours at each, or the ones on the other side of our small town.
Employers have to meet the bottom line - or the facility closes.
The Andrews government has ears only for the unions.
Casualisation suits no one.
Why did the unions and government push employers into this corner?
The unions don't really care about health workers, neither does the government.
Three nursing/aged homes within a stone's throw have changed hands in the last six or seven months.
