Melbourne radio has been full of stories over the the last three days including today regarding the lack of use of QR codes to record when people enter premises, shopes, eateries etc.

Late yesterday afternoon my daughter wanted to shop at K-Mart in the Northland shopping centre located in Preston and in the epicentre of the latest Northern suburds cluster. A cluster of at least 90 cases where people had to quarantine.

My daughter booked a time online. She arrived at her appointed time and entered the store. Most people coming into the store wore masks.

But that is where it ended. A significant number once entering the store did one of the following: removed the mask altgether, hung the mask from an ear, pulled the mask down under the nose or pulled the mask under the chin.

People were congregating in groups the 1.5 metre social distancing rule was non existent.

My daughter walked out in shock after a few minutes without buying anything.

Social distancing throughout the entire shopping centre was not much better.

Melbourne will have a day of 10 infections sometime next week.

The rebound from the lockdown, celebrated whiskey style, has been overhyped.

Messaging and compliance by the government is focussed in all the wrong places.

Get ready for a third wave going into Autumn.
