Margret Court although a great tennis player in the past is simply living there , She is a God botherer and a homophobe but she simply has to update and be a modern Aussie.
SS marriage & sexual equality are now the norm with the former enshrined in Aussie law and for that reason she ought not be awarded the OAM because of homophobic views.
IMO OAMs should be, first & foremost, good citizens who observe , appreciate and where possible, promote our laws. Its part of being a good Aussie, IMO.
For this reason the Morrison Government, is defacto, is recognising & awarding her minority homophobic views.
For example, despite her views, as her Church Leader/ employer, she is not allowed under Australian law to discriminate against a potential employee because of sexual preference.
OAMs are expected to be exemplary Aussies; not people with minority views that our democracy has already decided on!
