He should know who is in control … and it not the church. True believers do not submit to Roman church - Anglican - church of England - etc The Holy Spirit is in control of the true believers and we submit to one another in love in Christ Jesus. But the world does not even understand this because it is of the flesh and do not understand the things of The Spirit! Philippians 2:21 " For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus." Those that are lead by the Spirit of God these are the sons of God.
It all gets down to … Have you the Spirit of the living God in you? If so then you require no teacher because He will lead you into ALL TRUTH.
