Leaving aside the policy itself (terrible) and the damage it has done to Australia, it was absolute pure stupidity. The one voting block Sharma had in the bag was the Zionist vote (not all Jews here are in favour of moving our embassy to Jerusalem as they recognise the symbolism is not worth the cost). This policy could not have picked up a single vote even if it had been believed.
I am not looking forward to Labor gaining power and most especially to Shorten being PM, but this was the line in the sand for me that said the Liberals have totally lost the plot and have to go.
