Animoca Brands 'wants to onboard next billion people to blockchain through games' Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd (ASX:AB1) non-executive director Yat Siu introduces Proactive Investors to the company, and also shares all the latest on the popular Crazy Defense Heroes mobile game and other titles. The international games developer and publisher is building upon its mobile gaming business by incorporating aspects of AI and blockchain. "There's actual technological benefits to being on the blockchain, such as it solves security issues, it also creates an actual real economy in a game economy. So in the game industry in the past we were used to essentially just selling content, a bit like a Netflix-type model; but now with the blockchain you have the ability to put value into those economies in a way that extends beyond just the content that you're selling," explains Siu. "We believe that gamers are the first and easiest frontier to bring on the blockchain... we want to be - through games - the company that essentially onboards the next billion people onto the blockchain," Siu continues. The company recently posted a record breaking financial quarter, with extra revenue from a number of recent deals yet to flow.
