He has made a few basic errors with his comments regarding the time patients have been in the treatment and the SVR times.
My understanding is that most of the patients who had G3 and are still in the trial have not finished their course. There is no SVR12 in the true sense yet. What you have is RVR: rapid viral response, followed by a lack of viral breakthrough at six months in all patients and at least one is virus free at 48 weeks (end of treatment).
SVR12 is the term used for virus free 60 weeks out. IE: 48 weeks treatment and still clear twelve weeks out from there.
Viral breakthrough after having a RVR at 12 weeks whilst continuing on the treatment is very rare. That was my initial issue about the announcement. It was not newsworthy.
There are other mistakes and after re-reading the article I find some of his statements hard to swallow.
However, there is still some points holders should take heed of IMO.
