Exactly - transferred to a very closely related retail "arm" to give an arms length appearance to what might have been wholesale competing against retail - a definite no-no if you are a wholesaler or manufacturer. A good point about the value of the IP though - I would be inclined still to stick to Lev's judgement even though he is far from being independent - in fact his relationship IMO is probably close to having considerable influence over both entities. Would have been better to have an independent valuation as you point out.
