The short interest is 1.57%, so the fall has virtually nothing to do with short sellers.

1PG has certainly had a stellar run that's for. Well done for jumping on board early and holding it.

I have no issue with 1PG or missing some of the rally (as previously mentioned, the only position I have actually had in 1PG was a long quite some time ago, but I sold it a long time ago too), and I can assure you any posts I do here have zero to do with "sour grapes" or jealousy.

I have had good and bad experiences with concept stocks in the past, so I like to follow a few of the current ones as it is always educational and hotcopper is always entertaining (!!).

There is always a hot concept stock to follow, but the issue is almost always that you don't know when to sell (because there is no valuation support, so do you sell when it first pulls back 20-30% or do you buy more, then do you sell when it pulls back the second 20-30% or buy more or do you sell after it doubles once or buy more etc).

BTW - you should have a look at the stats on stocks that were the top performers in any given year and how often they were a top performer the next year. Very occasionally they are, but once again probability is significantly against you.

Maybe gold stocks will be back this year. There are definitely a few macro guys getting excited about gold again. But who knows.
