As the announcement says the funding is for capital such as backing VISA etc. Do you want them to fund this through equity?? That's mental, and not to mention dilutive. Do banks fund commitments through equity? Does BHP fund each new mine through an equity issue? All company's use debt as the return from a company's marginal invested dollar is higher than the cost. To buy Reckon the huge amount required an equity issue, this use doesn't. NOV had no debt. Optimise the capital structure I say with small leverage. Now the company has a Debt to Equity (D/D+E) ratio of 12%. 12%!! Use any spare cash on the balance sheet to expand the business. I'm over equity issues, imagined if they did another one with the share price down here, it would be all over. ALL OVER. Sit back and watch Peter grow this company.
