    Bit of a broader route...

Re early CDP graphite purities, in the webinar following the 36 hour CDP run (Feb 28) Tim Forbes said they were "on track" for 90-95% straight from the reactor. This is at 30:15 here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=550rLiZkEj8.

They've repeatedly said their focus has been to get the plant running properly before optimising the graphite, which could account for the absence of purities in press releases (this in response to Keith D. Patch's post). Some will remember when the pilot plant came online in Kwinana, after which Hazer spent several months optimising the graphite. That's where we seem to be.
It was back in 2017 that they purified the graphite to 99.95%, i.e. battery grade, for the first time - starting from 86%. At that time, they used a two-stage chemical process.

Recently, they've come up with a novel purification process of their own that's potentially cheap and environmentally sound.

While we shouldn't talk too much about batteries, as @Stezza points out, this was one of the most relevant ANNs, from Dec 10 2018:

In any case, Keith D. Patch doesn't seem to be in the loop with Hazer's proposed bulk use of less pure graphite in steelmaking and water treatment. He's a sceptic, but there's plenty of evidence to Hazer's favour.
