Its possible. I had this thought. However, the fundamentals are just so good. Gold is better than cash. Good gold miners 'should' be better than the physical, although not over all time-frames.

I just can't accept selling right now when the fundamentals are great and profits should be strong. Whilst the market is wonky, I think it should fix itself soon enough. How long though? Debt situation should be resolved in the next couple of weeks (ie debt ceiling). The Europeans have virtually said that they are going to do their version of TARP via money printing. The US needs further money printing and will have to get it started within the next two months but could happen any day - perhaps at Jackson Hole again?

So further short-term instability is likely - it just doesn't make sense. However 3 month time frame should be solid to fantastic (ie another Jackson Hole US Fed announcement).
