Regarding the 2mtpa production rate constraint:
I don’t think 2mtpa will be a constraint. The higher capital case included money to build bypass roads around towns. Once complete then there is scope to push beyond 2mtpa road haulage.
However in the longer term when we start grinding up magnetite ore, a slurry pipeline may be the best solution for the green steel product. This could have much higher capacity and lower capital than a rail line or road duplication. It would also have very low operating costs.
