    anon expert here. This is definitely bogus. The handheld SciAps instruments can give readings that are off sometimes.

    There is no mineral in this world hosting 25% Li2O. Not even close! Spodumene has ~8%Li2O and the highest Li mineral in my books is zabuyelite (LiCO3) with ~19% Li2O but that's a salt and doesn't really exist in pegmatite. It is true that triphylite can have up to ~10% Li2O.

    LIBS results should NEVER be reported in JORC. All you can say is that you have confirmed Li enrichment in certain samples (qualitatively). As the technology evolves and more sophisticated standardisation/calibration techniques become available, results may become JORC compliant.
