ok, look the reason I said people open account back home & then in Australia only to support any argument where people think there is need to have account both country.

As a migrant myself and who lived more then Australia I can say mostly there are three type of migrant (aspirant) coming out of Asian country including India.

    1. Permanent/temporary migrant (PR/TR)
    2. work visa holders
    3. student visa holders (aspirant migrant)

Now those who holds PR or TR have absolutely no trouble (subject to plenty of document required to prove that you hold PR / TR) to open account in Australia and also they mostly comes out with some money with an expectation that they will start earning here to look after themselves after sometime. So this category isn't something NOV could depend upon (I went straight to HSBC for my own account need without wasting time with any of the big 4).

those on work visa (genuine work visa) comes here to work for pre-arranged employer and in those cases employer helps with everything or compensate for the needs.

third one is the student visa holders who are the one NOV can target but it isn't the category that could be exclusive to NOV or there is nothing NOV can offer in my opinion that doesn't exist... ! this is the category who normally try to have dual account if they are intending to get their fees from overseas and they don't need to look at CBA or NAB or ANZ or WBC because their first preference are HSBC & CITI bank (both charge fees but they have most overseas branches). In addition to HSBC & Citi they can always go to Bank of China or SBI or PNB or BOB (unknown to Australian but these are massive banks with size bigger then CBA even... SBI market cap is $5.42 trillion USD) .... ! (obviously I won't talk about other ways international migrant could transfer money ) .

I am sure there will be customer that NOV will get on board but thinking that this will be choice for migrant bank needs more supportive narrative in my opinion.... ! there are many small bank Australia and NOV will settle somewhere if they can manage to establish themselves with strong strategy, planning & fund backing but no guarantee in my opinion.

RKN fell due to capital return and I am not selling it for sometime now .... so more of wait & watch for RKN.
