I’d be surprised if uptake of nuclear is rapid in China due to their advanced (and accelerating) green policies, and also because they haven’t been prolific installers of nuclear in the past. Demand may force their hand, but by then they may have mastered large-scale renewables + batteries and won’t need it at all.

Re: Japan - I think you may find that demand for EV’s has been lacking there due to Toyota dragging it’s feet. Bit hard to join the revolution when you’re national manufacturer (and pride and joy) is reluctant. PS Not to say there isn’t demand for U308 (and equivalents) elsewhere. And if the powers that be were smarter, they’d realize that nuclear power makes for a very clean alternative to even the cleanest renewables, and they’d consider it for our energy blend too.

Every day China consumes equivalent to a train full of coal that stretches from Perth to 400kms short of Adelaide... in a 24 hour cycle, by the time that train has reached Kalgoorlie its 6am in the morning... by the time its mid day its at the WA/SA border... China is building/Completing one Nuclear power plant every month and needs to build another 165 before 2025 to meet demand....China needs 1GWH extra capacity a month to meet demand.... Barney suspects only @malay could quantify such measures and claims??
