Japan has big plans for hydrogen to power transport and industry to avoid nuclear issue. Toyota have put a lot of work into that and slowed up on EVs after being first with big commercial sales with Prius. Prius variants are very common though in Japan. Toyota just recently ann big EV plans in China (along with everyone else).
I've been wondering what China has been planning to do re the coal powered EVs. Nuclear an obvious choice in short term.
