Been on hols for a couple of weeks so thought I'd give a few comments:
Yes good indications this is going to be a winner - I notice a company with 'Total' in the name is a 20% participant, does anyone know if this is the same French company who OSH is partnering with for the PNG offshore drilling? Interesting if it is - getting quite cosy with them?
I don't think there is a high chance of a Total take over (excuse the pun)given the large holdings of PNG government/middle east interests.
I for one would prefer OSH to go it alone and realise the riches they have been striving for, would be interesting however if Total and Mobil got into a bidding war ?!!
The only watchout I see for OSH is they are going to have to play the politics carefully between Total and Mobil, not sure if Mobil were interested in the offshore play but if they were they might be upset they lost out so need to be careful.
