My understanding is that the TESS unit does what it is intended to do and you are working on improving the overall efficiency of the unit. The problem at Glenelg was in the Energy Recovery System, is this, basically, the prime factor affecting efficiency of the TESS? One of the key learnings from the GAS-TESS was that the third-party ERS could not perform to the required efficiency specifications. We are currently working with external specialists and partners to deliver a commercially robust, high performance ERS. SA Water remain supportive of the GAS-TESS technology and are progressing approvals for ongoing development at the site.
With the latest MOU with Vast Solar and I have tried to contact them for an answer without receiving a response. How more efficient is their thermal solar collectors than PV? Assuming it must be more efficient, is it being investigated to integrate Vast Solar into TESS? How is the MOU intended to strengthen the business case for the Aurora Project? Is Vast Solars’ technology being looked at as a fallback should TESS not be determined as a viable product or is it intended to operate autonomously? We are planning a multistaged development of the Aurora Solar Energy Project. The first stage includes solar PV and batteries, followed by expansion to add 14D’s TESS. Our vision for the Aurora Project is to create a dispatchable renewable energy park. The proposed park will include the TESS and other energy assets that can assist in providing dispatchable renewable electricity. The MOU with Vast Solar is to assess how CSP could fit into this bigger picture vision of the dispatchable renewable energy park. The CSP is intended to operate autonomously.
