You would normally run multiple probes....a conventional probe module (perhaps with an extra large probe) as well as the Saturn probe. I've often run strings with two conventional probes in addition to the Saturn. Normally you'd acquire pressures using the conventional probe and only switch to the Saturn if a pressure point is tight or supercharged. The Saturn probe rubber has a limited life and you generally only use it when you have to.

The Saturn is normally used when you've either got low permeability or alternately if you have decent permeability if want to cut down on time on each station due to concerns re hole condition or differential sticking. Impossible to know what the exact strategy was with IVZ's use of the module.
