With reference to the Invictus' webinar of the 14th December 2023, SM stated that reservoir quality, in particular in the Upper Angwa, is worse than in the Lower Angwa and is related to the depositional environment. SM stated "may need to stimulate the wells to get the gas to surface". Resources such as tight gas condensate sands are classified as unconventional when there is a necessity to stimulate the wells using techniques such as hydraulic fracturing.

With regard to the normally pressured and over pressured Lower Angwa sands, stimulation may not be a necessity, but it can be cost effective in enhancing recovery and improving flow rates. In addition, if the strategy of drawdown control in the LA fails to curb the loss of porosity and permeability over time due to compaction (deflation of a high pressure balloon because of initial over-pressure), then hydraulic fracturing would be an option to make up for the loss of permeability.
