To be honest I haven’t noticed, changed my setting a few years ago when I learnt about them and haven’t thought about it since. They do offer a cleaner presentation especially when relating to ema’s.
I think it’s important to work on exactly what settings work for you and strictly stick to it when trading. Hard part is being prepared to spend the time required to establish those settings. As it requires a lot of backtesting and experimenting with different settings.
That old saying, “overnight success takes five years” rings true.
