The NSW and southeast Queensland floods - areas such as Kempsey, Taree, Windsor (NSW), Penrith and Pitt Town - have resulted in this government assistance. Note the mention of skip bins. This is like manna from heaven in a financial sense for BIN, although as always our prayers and Mass offerings should be for those hit who face a massive clean up task:

NSW Storm and Flood Clean up Program

    25 March 2021

Flood and storm impacted people and businesses can now access all available State Government and Federal Government support, through the NSW Government’s Disaster Customer Care program, by calling Service NSW on 13 77 88 or visiting www.service.nsw.gov.au

About the NSW Storm and Flood Clean up Program

    • The NSW Government is finalising arrangements with the Commonwealth to ensure that assistance reaches communities in need as quickly as possible
    • Though the forecast for coming days is for less rain and more periods of sun, people are warned to be vigilant about the ongoing dangers of flood water
    • The recovery process is already underway with equipment and crews mobilised
    • Clean up assistance will be provided to flood-affected residents, businesses, primary producers and councils to support immediate clean-up and waste disposal, including the removal of debris, mud and green waste
    • Multiagency, clean-up Strike Forces comprising of ADF, Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW, will be assisting with clean-up, which will commence on the mid North Coast from Thursday 25 March, pending receding waters and all clear from SES
      • 13 Strike Teams from NSW RFS and Fire and Rescue NSW are heading to Port Macquarie, Kempsey and Taree to assist with recovery/clean-up operations
      • Strike Teams will be going house to house in affected areas using trucks to hose out properties and assist with the start of the recovery operations
    • The priority of the clean-up strike force, will be ensuring roads are accessible, assisting with washout and clean up and removing bulk waste to provide initial relief
    • This service is provided for free by the NSW and Commonwealth Governments. People are asked to be aware of fake tradies who appear asking for money to clean your property
    • The program is being led and coordinated locally, with local emergency services identifying the need in their areas and seeking assistance from the State
    • Residents are asked to follow advice in relation to the separation of goods for disposal where possible. This will help minimise use of the limited landfill capacity available
    • Skip bins and dump trucks will start appearing on streets, please follow the directions of where to put your waste. Where skip bins or dump trucks are not yet deployed, separation on kerbside will assist
