I won't disagree with you about EPS however such is explained in the notes of the CFO. Such happens when an acquisition is financed by shares rather than debt (which would have been nuts in a time of escalating interest rates).
My take is that the DPS is a strong suggestion that the Board is comfortable with the digestion of the acquisition and the corporate direction.
