I live on the Darling Downs about 40 km west of Toowoomba. I hardly go to town but have visited city 4x in past 10days. Wife thinks I'm nuts but i like the break away from screen. Once again i visited a couple of franchises but only managed to speak to one proprietor. It was the DK outlet i visited saturday 10 days ago at 11.30am to find it 3 deep and pumping!

Today i went 2x, at 2.15pm and again at 3.30pm. I spoke at length with this proprietor and he confirmed what other DK owner had said with one difference. Shop A told me that RFG scoop 8+2=10% every Monday. He said split is 7+3=10%. A small difference and RFG get it all from sales revenue.

Today the fellow confirmed that the ingredients/donut 'are a fraction' of sale price unlike all the many restaurants/cafes he had spent 14yrs working at where food cost is close to 40%. Also confirmed that RFG makes a pile with the business model they have. It may not be ruthless but its certainly relentless. 5.55 here we come.
