I wonder if management have thought of creating our own professional social networking platform? No need to piggyback into other platforms, just start afresh and call it 1Page or something and send out 1.1 billion invitations with details of reasons of the benefits members will have. That will be an overnight success and will scare the crap out of Facebook and Linkedin IMO!
