But anyway, your mention of kicking goals did remind me of another point....

Matt talked about how they had kicked a few own-goals in preceding years. It is good for them to be self aware, and further it sounds like they have moved mountains to actually fix those issues as well. Acknowledging that they had made a few stuff-ups to me is a positive. They can't change what they did but they can definitely fix it, be objective about it without doubling-down that it was a good decision
