BP would be totally aware of this. It's their bread and butter.
To recruit a couple of big players to just squash the SP at every given opportunity to instil and reinforce fear and negativity is very effective. Trials, even fast ones, take a lot of time.
Let us run out of funds. Get desperate. Then they can pick up the company for a song, and do what they please.
